Meantime London Stout

Style: Stout
Alcohol: 4.5% ABV
Brewery: Meantime
Country/Region: England

Product Description:

A brief history lesson. Traditionally, “stout” was not a style of beer but a description – it meant “strong”. During the 18th and 19th Centuries, due to the phenomenal popularity of porters, most English breweries were producing a “stout porter” (a strong porter). After the introduction of lagers into England, the popularity of dark beers waned, and most Englishmen forgot about stout porters. Luckily, this wasn’t the case in Ireland, where the stout porter proved immensely popular, was given an Irish twist (dryer, roastier and lower alcohol) and was abbreviated to “stout”.

Meantime London Stout is brewed in the traditional English manner, with a 100% malt grist, which includes original brown malt but no roast barley. This method gives the London Stout a full and luxurious mouthfeel, and subtle vanilla highlights - characteristics lost in Irish alternatives.

De Molen Bloed, Zweet & Tranen

An Imperial Smoked Stout born from a mistake during the brewing process, it’s a unique combination of smoked Bruichladdich malts and smoked malts from Bamberg. It's sweet and bitter with a mix of fruit, coffee and chocolate. And - of course - an even more dominant smoke flavour.
