Product Description:

Nøgne Ø (pronounced “nəg-nə ə”, or “nir-gneh err”) is Norway's leading and largest supplier of bottle conditioned ale. The name Nøgne Ø means "naked island", a poetic term used by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen to describe any of the countless stark, barren outcroppings that are visible in the rough sea off Norway's southern coast. Nøgne Ø's subtitle "The Uncompromising Brewery" is a plain statement of their mission to craft ale of highest quality, personality and individuality. The alchemists realized that they could only create gold from gold – and so does Nøgne Ø. Their gold is Maris Otter malt from the UK; Cascade, Centenneal, Chinook and Columbus hops from the US.
Nøgne Ø has grown from a 300hl production in 2003 to an estimated 2500hl production in 2007, making more than 20 different styles of ales, and exporting more than 70% of total production.
Started by two passionate homebrewers, Nøgne Ø was Norway’s first microbrewery founded solely for creative, artistic brewing. Nøgne Ø insist that to this day there has been no wealth or fortune in their venture, pondering who in their right mind would leave their home each day to work for free in a labour intensive brewery. To their credit, they introduced styles such as Pale Ale, IPA, Imperial Stout, Porter, Barleywine etc to a populace that had never heard of them. In a country where alcohol commercials are prohibited, journalists and foodies soon caught on to Nøgne Ø, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Saison Dupont

The Saison Dupont is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since 1844, this beer has been brewed in our farm-brewery, during the winter time.
Then this beer became a second refermentation in the barrel.
During the next summer, this very thirst-quenching beer was served to the “saisoniers” which were working on the fields.
Surely therefore, our Saison Dupont is considered as “the classic” among the Belgian season beers!
Coppery blond, the finest aromas and a strong bitterness transform this beer into a thirst-quenchener with no equal, just the way it was created.
Our selection of yeasts is the perfect base for these typical aromas and ditto taste.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result into this complex and particular aromatic beer.
