Product Description:

BrewDog’s mission statement is as irreverent as the beers they create - “Beer was never meant to be bland, tasteless and apathetic. At BrewDog they are setting the record straight. We do not merely aspire to the proclaimed heady heights of conformity through neutrality and blandness .. We are proud to be an intrepid David in a desperate ocean of insipid Goliaths. We are proud to be an alternative”.

And what else would you expect from the brewers that created Atlantic IPA – an 8% ABV, 90IBU monster brewed by religiously following a 210 year old recipe, transferring the beer into oak casks, and aging the casks on the open deck of working mackerel trawler for two months at sea (no it isn’t a joke, check out the video blogs at: http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article.php?id=63).

The oak-aging process is nothing new to BrewDog - the brewery has a myriad of limited release brews, each aged in oak casks sourced from a different Islay distillery. We have just received stock of one such beer, Paradox Smokehead, a 10% ABV Imperial Stout matured in Islay whisky casks from Arran.

BrewDog Smokehead
An extreme beer – a crossover between an Imperial Stout and an Islay Whisky. The distinct flavours of Smokehead Whisky are beautifully infused into the beer, a not-so-subtle mix of atlantic smoke, peat and oak adding to the rich, roasted, toffee fullness of the Imperial Stout. A monster of a beer which is sure to appeal to lovers of strong stouts and whisky drinkers alike.
